Transcription: I first wrote songs that were panned in a blues idiom and most of the writers that I kind of learned from were blues writers. Like Johnnie Hooker or Muddy Waters or all these kind of people, Sammy Boy Williamson, Howling Wolf, Willie Dixon. People were kind of surprised by the lyric directness that I used to write about and just like straight sexual situations but really all that was straight from blues and rhythm and blues songs.
